フィールドガイド マレーシアの昆虫制作中。まえがきから抜粋。明日からフィールドガイドに登場する昆虫のごく一部だが毎日紹介する。明日からは山の中での撮影で、恐らくその日に撮った写真を出すのは難しいかもしれないということもある。したがって写真は古いもので、一番古いのは30年ぐらい前のものだ。最終バージョンがほぼ完成してきた。
This book is meant to be a field guide, but not all of the insects are featured. I’ve been taking photographs of Malaysian insects for the past 45 years, but have only probably covered 10% of what’s available in Malaysia. In this book, I’ve tried to put in all the more ‘conspicuous’ insects - the famous insects, cool-looking insect, beautiful insects, large insects, and of course, the strange-looking insects.
In addition, I’ve also tried to include as many insect groups as possible, because while it is essentially a technical book on butterflies and beetles, it is also the first guide-book of its kind in Malaysia that can also be used by non-professionals. As such, the book has been designed in an easy-to-use, portable size for universal use.
